I started buttoning up the rear end assembly last night and this morning. Still need to add a belt for the pump, a few lines, the spring cups, and brakes then it is ready to go in!

I got a little work done on the #11 car today. Trying to get the rear suspension ready to install. Brakes are finally sorted out. I had some machined aluminum rotors on hand, so I made some "caps" out of styrene to hold the lug studs. I made the axle ends from some aluminum rod. These were tapered by hand with a file and cleaned up with 400 grit paper. Calipers and brake lines are on. It is ALMOST ready for its permanent home. I have some pictures to set up a step by step/how to on how I created the styrene caps. I'll post that to my model facebook page tonight or tomorrow so be on the look out for that. Tonight's theme, 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I picked up a second sheet of decals to double the numbers on the doors and hood. The door decals wrinkled and never would lay flat. So, I hoped to pull the top number with some masking tape, and it pulled them both. So, I have a 3rd sheet on the way.... I finally got the shocks sorted out and have something I am pretty happy with! This is 3 pieces of aluminum tubing, 1 piece of solder, and 1 piece of detail wire. I will detail the build process this weekend on my model page.

Without a doubt, one of the best builds I have ever seen. Keep it up!!! Thank you. This pales in comparison to some of the builds I have seen done by Dave Thibodeaux and Clay Kemp. I'm actually using their builds as reference! I got quite a bit done this weekend. Front brakes are complete they just need lug studs. Cooling system and tin work is done, and I got started on interior details. Oil lines to and from the tank as well as a line for the breather that would be in the trunk The ducts for the diff cooler and rear brakes will tie in here. You can also see the fuel line. Miscellaneous interior details. New electronics tray, MSD boxes mounted and wired, just need coils now. The tach is done as well. It is a slixx decal I cut out, glued to a spare piece of sprue and the glued inside of a piece of aluminum tubing I polished. The shifter is made up of the boot and ball from the kit piece. The arm is a pice of chrome plated PE from the dirt modeler sprint car front suspension tree. Upper tin for the radiator tunnel is complete. I added a C&R decal and some PE dzus fasteners.

Thank you. It is really starting to come together. Once the seat shows up, I can really start getting the interior buttoned up!

Speaking of nuts.... It is taking every bit of restraint I have in me to not completely remove the lug nuts from all of the wheels and replace them with protech AN fittings! :/ In other news, the cold weather here in Texas is preventing me from clearing the body. I was, however, able to spray some details. The seat and exhaust are painted. A few more details to add to the seat still, but it is close. Decals from a powerslide goodie sheed, bolt Pro Tech bolt head details and dirt modeler PE washers for the seat "retainers"

I hit a huge milestone today. The seat is done, detailed, and installed! The seat had to go in before I could set the dash and steering column. Seat belts are done and labeled with the correct Schroth decals for the belts Denny uses. Lots of miscellaneous details in there. Photo Etched belt hardware, etc. Also note the radd io wire and connector for the helmet The fire suppression system is installed as well. 2 nozzles, one by the seat and one near the oil tank in the rear, complete with a line to the "actuator" mounted to the side of the seat. As a bit of a break from the car, yesterday I built a display stand. I plan to set a couole of pieces of aluminum tube on the bottom side of the chassis that will "key" into pins on the stand to keep it from falling. I painted it with Tamiya gun metal and painted the "welds" with some silver for contrast.

Absolutely amazing work. Find myself waiting for your update posts to watch your progress. Keep up the great work! Thank you, glad to know people are watching! Man the issue with the decal on the driver door REALLY shows up in the pictures. :/ I hope to have a good deal of work done by the end of this weekend. I finally figured out a solution for the front steering to make it a little more realistic, something that MIGHT actually work on a 1:1!
