Hey Guys,
On the new Revell kits, what paint is everyone using for the metallic engine colors. Just the aluminum and steel from the model masters line?

I use a mix of Alclad and Model Masters metallizers. Alclad for anything aluminum. I like the model masters line because you get a pretty convincing finish with a paint brush and it reduces the need to set up the airbrush. I don't "bulk build" so I typically only have one or two parts at a time that need a particular color. If you go the Model Masters route, bet the buffing metallizer. You can leave it with a dull finish, or buff it with a soft cloth for a little different look This engine was done with Alclad aluminum on the block, heads, and oil pan. The Transmission and bell housing were done with a couple of different Testors Metallizers. The headers were done with a base of Alclad aluminum and then followed with some metallizers to "weather"

This guy right there gets its, the only thing I do different is air brush instead of the can for everything, I use Mr Surfacer Black primer on the covers, love that stuff.
