So our pal(said in sarcastic way) Powersilde Mike posted this over that other place
I really hope its Revell and Toyota came to an agreement and Revell is moving forward with the Camry kits, but anyways, what could it be that would light up the NASCAR model community ?, I really cant think of much right now at 1am

I just saw that post. Looks like he updated it, it's nothing to do with Revell, and not anything modern, but somehow its going to light up the Nascar modeling world. Let me guess, he's reissuing Days of Thunder decals that he seems to love so much lol. There are some good people on that board, but its become so ridiculous the way they dwell on the past and refuse to say much of anything good about the current Nascar or Nascar kits.

That's because they are hoping for a Revell issued '85 Olds kit.

I see that its nothing modern, and probably not even a kit.

Its almost as if they want the new kits to fail, or they hope they do , which I dont get it, well, I do, they all hate modern NASCAR so I guess it does make some sense . It's just not the NASCAR guys that hate new, the American side of the hobby pretty much lives in the past, because the core builders that Round 2 and Revell are targeting are men of a certain age. Look at Round2 /AMT, the only new kits they are doing is the Camaro kits, all the other kits are reissues. Revell is a little bit better, but they still lean towards the older subjects. Whatever keeps the lights on is smart business 101, and I get that, still sucks if you dont want to live in the past or are not from that same era.

I see both sides points. Yes, I am old and I live in the past, I love building the older pre-cot cars. The reason is, and Pheedens hit the nail on the head on this, this is when I started watching NASCAR. So all the drama, in my opinion was there every week between the drivers, it was like a mans soap opera lol. I also see the newer guys points as well, we need the new kits to sell well so manufacturers of the kits see how popular they are and want to make more. I have built a few of these new kits and they're okay to build, I need instructions and pictures to build a half accurate car though. Give me a pre-cot and I can build it blindfolded with half a fifth of Jim in me. Just my opinion.
