Correct, Chevy closed down the Holden plant in Australia , ending the production of the Holden Commodore aka Chevy SS, orders for the SS stopped early this year. The Camaro is the what GM chose to replace it on the Cup side.

Ford is 'thinking' about moving the Mustang to Cup now. And after we now have half-way descent kits for the SS and Fusion.......Go figure.....

Lets hope the kits have sold well enough or will that Revell will want to try and extend the licensing agreement that ends this year I believe. From a purely marketing standpoint Ford will have to move the Mustang to Cup. It's the Camaro's counterpart and people will be expecting to see them race one another. As far as tooling goes for the new kits, the tooling shouldnt be too bad. New body/hood windows. The chassis/cage/motor/suspension can all stay the same. It'll come down to licencing from Ford and GM. From what I've seen of sales, just on forums, the new glue kits look to be a hit. Lots of people buying and building. A fair number of aftermarket liveries already and more coming all the time. Even though I'm not a real NASCAR guy I am liking these new kits and really look forward to seeing more produced. If Revell is going to continue the surge I think their riding right now, they'll have to mold the Camaro after this first run. Once the SS's get release I'm going to get several. I want the Camaro to be done. I think it's a much more racy looking car than the SS. For the new liveries post above, I like the 24 and definitely love the 48...just cause I'm partial to black.

Of course, Ford will more than likely replace the Fusion with the Mustang, its just a matter of when, 2018 is out of the picture, so that leaves 2019 , but the Gen 7 car is coming, sounds like for 2020 , so it will be interesting to see what Ford does. It would make sense for Revell to do the Camaro, but that all comes down to if Revell continues with NASCAR kits , we are just gonna have to wait to and see what happens next. I do agree the Ford kits look like they have been selling really good, fingers crossed, and I am really hoping Revell can get Toyota licensing so they can do the Camry's .

Going to use a glue Ford to convert to a Toyota. I am not going to do much in reworking the body. Thinking of just smoothing out the nose and throwing on decals. From 3-4 foot viewing range, should pass ok.

Any word on a 2018 Camaro resin body coming out? Guess this is the end of my Petty builds in a Blue Oval! Just stocked up. Guess I can get a couple SS' and get the frames ready. Thanks, Petty Fan 43 <><

Seeing how the resin body would be mastered off of a 2018 Camaro diecast (which has not been released yet), no, there is not any word on a Camaro resin.
