Been trying to track this car down for quite some time and finally was able to do it. Dale Earnhardt raced the California Cooler sponsored Chevy in 1985 at the Stroh’s Beer 200 Winston West race in Seattle. Earnhardt strapped in the Bill Schmitt owned car and qualified 4th for the race. Early in the race, Dale suffered a flat tire and made a pit stop for 4 fresh Goodyears. Earnhardt would make a charge from the back of the field in last place and go on to win by 19 seconds over runner-up Jim Robinson. Very few images of Dale’s car actually exist. I was fortunate to receive photos from a photographer who was at the race in 1985. Due to his request, I will not be posting any photos he sent me, but I do present to you this Action Diecast Custom.
