I can't believe it has been 6 months since I last posted. Things have certainly been "interesting" while I have been away. Got super busy at work, then Thanksgiving rolled around and I started getting really sick. December I ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks during Christmas, for major surgery due to getting sick at Thanksgiving. Now, 2 months after surgery, I am still healing up. Won't be fully healed for about another 4 months. Needless to say, my hobby time has been pretty much non-existent. I am starting to get the itch to do some building, so that is good.
After fighting with my Alps printer for so long (and the price of ink carts going through the roof), I decided to buy a new printer for decal printing. I picked up the HP M254DW laser printer, and the Ghost White white toner cartridge. I haven't tried printing any decals yet, but I have been doing a lot of research on it. I have been following the stickied thread about the setup over on the Randy's forum, but not a lot of "technical" information has really been posted about it. From the research I have done so far, it looks like the biggest drawback may be having to have a separate underlay sheet for the white as it is nearly impossible to get the color layers to register correctly over the white layer. But, I have yet to try any printing myself.
I do want to point out that just because I am working with a new printer setup, that does not mean I am planning to start selling decals again.
Well, I guess that is it for now. Just thought I would drop in and give a little update on what has been going on in my little corner of hell.
