Bill Elliott 99 QPC McDonald's Taurus

Here is my latest in progress build. This is the 99 Bill Elliott QPC McDonald's Taurus using an old school set of Three Amigos decals that I've had in my stash for a number of years. Been wanting to knock this one out for the longest time and I finally decided to to get it done. Decals went on great. The hood decal was the hardest to play with. Also, these decals are not designed to be a complete set. You have to come up with your own contingencies (which wasn't difficult) and a few other odds and ends, like the white contingencies that appear on the lower rear body section. I found something suitable on an old Mark Martin Valvoline Slixx sheet from 96. I also found a good picture of the car as it ran at Pocono in 99 and they ran a pinkish colored tape on the grill and front valance. I was able to sacrifice an Exide decal sheet from a Revell top fuel kit that was a pretty close match in color. I was able to cut up the decal in sections for the areas needed.
I also lowered the front valance with some added styrene and cut open the grills so that I could use an old Model Car Garage photo etch set that I had.
