Hello mens, looking for any and all advice for an upcoming Busch SS Harvick build. As many of you know I don't build newer cars, but, my goal when I started out NASCAR modeling was to build all the alcohol and tobacco cars, well, this one falls in that category. I think the decals are ACE(?) anyone experienced with this build or decals? How are they to put on? I've been hearing mixed reviews on them and would like to be prepared when I start. Also, this will be a very detailed build, if anyone can post any pics of this car that would be great, or I can give you my cell # and you can text/email if you can't post pics like me. Anything like interior, engine, dash, rear wheels area underneath. Also, I've noticed some cars have dials and some have a digital dash, how would I know what to use or when did they change over to dig dash? One more question for now, I also noticed some cars have a big square over the driver? Is this a roof flap of sorts? If so, when did they start using these? Any help or pics is greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to text pics to someone if they'd be willing to post them for me on here, I don't have a computer at home and I can't upload here at work for security reasons. Thank you guys.

I attempted to build the Busch car but the decals would crack, shatter and some wouldn’t even stick. I contacted both ace and mike and both of them said they had heard about no problems with the decals.

I've not use ACE decals so no help there. What year Busch car are you doing? It matters cause the digital dash's started showing up in 2016 I believe ( I'm not a huge NASCAR guy, so my knowledge is new). Also the big square on the roof of the car is a hatch that rescue workers can use to stabilize a driver before extraction from a wreck. For NASCAR I believe it was mandatory from 2017 forward, they may have been on some 2016 cars but I've seen wips that guys have done of 2016 cars and filled the hatch in. |

I've been hearing the same thing, some said decals just shattered and some say they went on with no effort? I'm curious myself what is so different. Maybe a bad batch of decal paper or something? I believe the Harvick throwback was a 2016? I guess I need to do a little more research on the year of the car. thank you guys for the advice so far it has been really helpful. That is interesting about the escape hatch also, that is a great idea on NASCAR's part.
