So the Hobbytown that was here in town and about 15 minutes from my house closed about 4 years ago. The reasoning was stupid. The place was always packed. The owner told me they were closing because they were too busy and refused to hire any help. They were family owned and only the Dad, Mom, Son, and Daughter worked there. He told me they didn't trust anyone else to hire them even though they were making good profit. Stupid. So next closest Hobbytown was about 35-40 minutes from me and was where I've been going. Got ready to make the trip yesterday. Got online to check and see what time they closed...they are closed permanently!! What the actual f@ck? Now the closest one is 77 miles away in Bowling Green or 91 miles away in Chattanooga.

I just found one in metro Detroit. Will never go back again. Was the only one in the store, and was followed around the entire store, after repeatedly telling the guy working that I was all set and just looking. Once I confirmed they had no Chase Elliott kits, I peaced the fuck out.

I had a similar experience in New Hampshire. When the clerk got a little prickish at the cash I told him I didn’t drive all the way from Canada to be treated like shit. Took my money and spent it elsewhere.

The last one we had here gave all us club members a 20% discount card to use , I used it liked twice in the two years I had it, thats how bad it was, they never had anything in stock, they only cared about the R/C stuff and the indoor cart track, the guys working were complete tools, the entire hobby part of the building was shitty and dirty.
We( the local clubs) ,moved our local annual Desert Scale Classic contest to the HTUSA and it was nothing but a nightmare for the few years, all the promises he made to us, all things he said he was gonna do , the roof he was going to build , never happened. And then one day in Nov of 2016, he and his store, gone, and no one knows to this day what happened. I am leaving a lot out more so because of CRS and DGAS.

I had one and it closed many years ago; the new one opened and they focus on everything else but model kits...all kits are old and ones I can buy at Michael's cheaper with a 50% off coupon

I loved the two near me because I get Tamiya spray paint there. No where else near me carries it.
