You guys probably already know this, but I see that AMT has finally come out with the Donnie Allison Mercury Cyclone reissue. The best part if this post, you don't have to see Dave Van come on and tell you how AMT had been consulting with him for months to get it just right. The idiot is still pounding himself on the back for MPC's Pepsi Laguna.
I have just started the AMT Terry Labonte 1995 Monte Carlo, not the greatest kit but I am going to try to make it look pretty decent. I got it for $7.00, so what the heck, I'm going to have fun with it.
Hope you all are doing well,
Dan.

I haven't seen the kit yet, but I did design the space shuttle for Nasa before I was even born.

Hey Brandon, I see you hammered ol Dave pretty good on that site, with the what's inside the box comment (Probably a plastic model LOL). I was surprised, with all Dave's insider info., I figured he would know exactly whats inside the box. He's also blabbering about how he has worked with Don Miller of Penske South years back, what a lying sack.
I once saw Tony Stewart race at local dirt track not too far from me. Someday I am going to write a book about all my inside knowledge of Nascar based on that race.

Sounds like a classic one upper! Haha
You all recommend anywhere to buy kits? I've used Hobby Lobby due to the coupon. Fans of Mikes or everybody mostly make their own here?

I refuse to buy anything from asshole Mike. If I want anything (like the DoT decals), I make Reyst buy them. I pretty much stick with diecast now anyways, specially with the cost of one of asshole's resin Gen6 bodies and then the cost of a donor chassis. Diecast is cheaper.

Stoney, I know right? Those resins are going for damn near $40.00! Add a donor and decal set and you are at $60.00 or more!! When I'm building the current cup cars, I too go the diecast route, plastic snobs be damned.LOL

That's kinda what I've come to realize, Stoney. My Gordon car was way cheaper as a diecast than his resin.

Holy crap, you guys better quite pimping Dave Van, he is taking the bait hook line and sinker. The ass clown IS saying Round 2 consulted with him about the Cyclone, and he gave them numerous suggestions. Okay, million dollar question: "If the fucker has all this inside info, how the hell does he not know whats in the kit?" I'm this close to going on that forum and asking Dave to please right that book he's been promising us.What a tool!

Do it. lol I refuse to post ANYTHING over there. I look, but that is all. I even resorted to showing has hidden over there because people would see me on then I would get 100 PMs about selling them a single set of decals, or some other nickel and dime bullshit.

Okay Jason, I did it. You really had to twist my arm lol! I asked Dave about the book, even baited him with what kind of stories he could tell, being a Nascar insider and all. My post will probably get deleted, as it borders on the "no Nascar discussion rule". After all, why would you want to discuss Nascar on a Nascar modeling site? Dumb asses

Just read what you posted and laughed.
Randy Ayers' Nascar Modeling Forum, the only Nascar board on the internet that you can't discuss Nascar on.

My old man got me the Allison kit for Christmas. Suggestions on that candy apple red color? I've red some used gold then clear red Tamiya. Looks like some automotive paints make a "candy apple" line. Enjoy the older models, just hard to find as many reference pictures to make them exact haha.
